Utopia Part I: The Home

Actually, this isn’t really my utopia, but this is my realistic, materialistic, modern world utopia.

Here’s what I’d ideally like to have in and around my house:

  • Parks, creeks and bushland: walking tracks, playgrounds and tennis courts.
  • A beach nearby would be awesome! But it’s unrealistic.
  • Away from pollution please! Both noise and air. Away from main roads.
  • Close to public transport and some nice local shops.
  • In the backyard: fruit trees, a veggie patch, and some space for backyard cricket!
  • A dog and chickens could roam in the backyard! Don’t hit the ball into the chickens!
  • Some nice trees would be cool, a cubby house for kids too? Oh and good grass.
  • Hammocks galore for summer! – need a good lie down spot.
  • A BBQ under a verandah for some outdoor chilling and cooking.
  • A table tennis table! Hours of fun. Perhaps a tennis ball hitting wall too.
  • In the home – a nice wood-powered fire for winter.
  • I’m not sure if I want air-con, as long as the house is reasonably cool in summer.
  • A nice screen for movies and TV, but mostly movies.
  • A massage-table style bed, they are so much better than normal mattresses!
  • Some carpeted areas for chilling, or doing exercise.
  • More to be added to this list 🙂
